Me and you and Zoboomafoo.

Today I finally met Zoboomafoo, the Coquerel's sifaka that was the main character on the Kratt Brothers' show Zoboomafoo that I watched all the time as a kid! He was up in a tree napping, but his new baby had lots of energy and was wishing dad would play with him.

My dad visited today and we got an awesome tour of the Lemur Center from David, the Research Tech here. I finally got to meet the aye-ayes and slow lorises along with the dwarf and mouse lemurs. They aye-ayes are so much bigger and fluffier than I thought! They are so funny looking.

Zoboo!

Arrived at Duke Lemur Center

I am finally at DLC and settled in. Yesterday was my first day of work helping Joe (a Duke Ph.D. student) with his research. The center is huge and there are so many lemurs of over 20 species. We are studying various male/female pairs including ring-tailed lemurs, mongoose lemurs, crowned lemurs, collared lemurs, and red-bellied lemurs. There is lots to learn in terms of his research methods and protocol and I think I'm going to have an awesome summer!
